Battery applications
Six duty cycles. Six different ways a battery dies early.
A battery is sold by capacity and judged by duty cycle. The same 200 Ah block that runs a solar array for eight years can fail in three on a golf cart, and the reverse is just as true. Pick the application below to see which series we build for it, what the failure mode looks like, and what to write into the RFQ so the quote matches the load.
UPS & Data Centre Batteries
A UPS battery is sized in watts per cell for a fixed runtime, not in amp-hours. That one difference is where most tenders go wrong: a 100 Ah block that looks generous at the C20 rate may deliver a fraction of that at 15 minutes to 1.67 V per cell. We build high-rate AGM blocks and tubular VRLA cells for server rooms, switchgear, substations and containerised data halls, from 12 V 7 Ah wall units to 2 V 3000 Ah rack strings.
Solar & Wind Storage Batteries
Off-grid and hybrid systems do not kill batteries by age. They kill them by never finishing a charge. A solar bank cycles every day, spends most of its life between 50% and 90% state of charge, and sits at whatever temperature the enclosure reaches. That is a different duty from standby, and it needs a battery rated for daily cycling, not a general-purpose block with a deep-cycle label.
Telecom & Base Station Batteries
Telecom backup is a 48 V DC problem, not a 12 V one. Strings are built from twenty-four 2 V cells or four 12 V blocks, and the string is only as good as its weakest cell, so consistency matters more than headline capacity. Outdoor cabinets add a second problem: 45 °C inside a metal box in summer, which cuts both capacity and life well below the datasheet numbers.
Security & Emergency Lighting Batteries
These batteries spend 99% of their life doing nothing, then have to deliver full rated current on the one day it matters. That makes two things critical: a float voltage that does not dry the cell out over five years of standby, and a documented capacity check that proves the runtime before an inspector asks for it.
Golf Cart & Electric Vehicle Batteries
Traction duty is measured in minutes of high current, not hours of low current. A golf cart pulls several hundred amps from a stop, runs the pack down to 1.75 V per cell, then gets plugged in at lunchtime and run again. Deep-cycle plates and thick tubular grids survive that; a standby block with the same Ah label does not.
RV & Marine Deep Cycle Batteries
A leisure battery does two jobs that pull in opposite directions: it cranks an engine for three seconds and then runs lights, fridges and pumps for two days. Add engine-room heat, constant vibration and a charging system designed for starting, not for storage, and the failure is predictable. The fix is matching chemistry to the charger, not buying the largest block that fits.
